History and Legacy

Ba Na Hills was originally established in 1919 by French colonists as a hill station to escape the tropical heat of Da Nang. Back then, it was known for its luxury villas, cool climate, and sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and coastline. Over the years, the site fell into neglect during wars and political changes, with many structures damaged or abandoned.

In the early 2000s, the Sun Group undertook a massive redevelopment project, transforming Ba Na Hills into one of Vietnam’s most famous tourist attractions. The French Village was rebuilt to resemble a European medieval town, complete with stone-paved streets, Gothic-style buildings, and colorful gardens. The record-breaking cable car, spanning over 5,800 meters, became the centerpiece of the journey. The addition of the Golden Bridge in 2018, with its distinctive “giant hands” design, catapulted Ba Na Hills into global fame. Today, it’s not just a historical retreat but also a vibrant theme park with cultural performances, amusement rides, and fine dining options. Ba Na Hills continues to blend history, architecture, and entertainment, making it a must-visit in Central Vietnam.
